Beauty & personal care
Beauty and personal care fulfillment
Fragile, high-value, and judged on the moment the box opens. Aerosols included, and the PR kits that launch it all.
Minimus Fulfillment ships beauty and personal care products from Thousand Oaks, California, with pack-outs designed around fragility and presentation rather than speed alone. We handle aerosols and ORM-D classified product, and we build PR, influencer and launch kits by hand — low-volume, high-visibility work that highly automated networks handle badly.
Why beauty is different to ship
- It breaks. Glass, pumps, droppers and pressed powder all fail in transit if the packaging is not engineered for it. Damage claims are a cost of goods problem disguised as a shipping problem.
- It is judged on arrival. A beauty customer photographs the unboxing. The pack-out is part of the product in a way it is not for most categories.
- It leaks. Liquids and creams need the right closure protection and secondary containment, especially for air freight and international.
- Launches are spiky. A drop, a collaboration or a creator post produces order volume that has nothing to do with the trailing month’s average.
- Returns are real. Shade and fit mismatches come back. The process for inspecting and restocking them needs to exist before you need it.
Aerosols and ORM-D
We handle aerosols and other product classified as ORM-D — dry shampoo, setting sprays, deodorants, hairsprays and the rest of the category that trips up a lot of 3PLs. Send us the safety data sheet for anything you are unsure about and we will confirm before you ship. Fully regulated hazmat outside the ORM-D classification falls outside what we are licensed for.
PR, influencer and seeding kits
This is a category where we are meaningfully better than a larger network, and it is worth being specific about why. A seeding drop is a hundred boxes, each slightly different, assembled by hand from a list that arrived last night, going out this week because a launch date does not move.
We have handled launches for some of the largest and most followed celebrities in the world. That work sits under non-disclosure, so no names — but it is why a fixed launch date and a press list do not worry us.
- Hand assembly to a photograph or a spec
- Named cards, handwritten notes and individual personalization
- Recipient lists supplied as a spreadsheet, shipped as one-offs
- Same-afternoon shipments when product is needed for an appearance or a shoot
- Coordination with a launch date rather than a standard ship window
We also design and source the boxes those kits go in — rigid presentation boxes, custom inserts, the kind of packaging that is the reason the unboxing gets filmed. More on packaging and kitting.
Regulatory note
Cosmetics regulation in the United States changed under the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act, which brought facility registration and product listing obligations to cosmetics manufacturers and processors. Those obligations sit with the brand and its manufacturer rather than with a warehouse, but it is worth confirming with your regulatory advisor where your responsibilities land. We are an FDA-registered facility and are comfortable holding the category; we do not provide regulatory advice.

Common questions
Do you handle aerosols?
Yes. We handle aerosols and other ORM-D classified product — dry shampoo, setting sprays, deodorants and similar. Fully regulated hazmat outside ORM-D is outside what we are licensed for. Send the safety data sheet and we will confirm which side of the line your product falls on.
Can you ship glass and fragile beauty products?
Yes. The solution is almost always packaging engineering rather than extra void fill, and we will work through the pack-out with you — including designing and sourcing a better shipper if the current one is the problem.
Do you handle PR boxes and influencer seeding?
Yes, and it is work we are particularly well suited to. Hand-assembled, individually personalized, low-volume and date-driven is exactly what large automated networks handle badly.
Can you do gift-ready pack-outs?
Yes. Tissue, ribbon, branded inserts, handwritten notes and specific placement are all standard requests here.
What about MoCRA?
The Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act placed registration and listing obligations on cosmetic manufacturers and processors. Those duties generally sit with the brand and its manufacturer rather than the warehouse. We are an FDA-registered facility and hold the category, but you should confirm your own obligations with a regulatory advisor.
